Thomas of the Connecticut Sun was sent off for a flagrant foul 2 on rookie player Angel Reese, which occurred late in the third quarter.

While fighting for a rebound in the low post, Thomas reached out and touched Reese's neck, sending Reese tumbling to the floor.

Following the play review, Thomas—who finished second in MVP voting last season—received her first flagrant penalty of the season and ninth foul of any kind,

tying her for second all-time in league history. Nine points, six assists, and six rebounds were her final stats.
